Climbers
Nothing beats a scented Honeysuckle, colourful Clematis, or
the firey autumnal foliage of Virginia Creeper - we have a wide range.

Climbers can be divided into two distinct groups; those which are true climbers, which are self-clinging, and those which require wires to cling to with tendrils, or some form of support to twine around.

Self-clinging climbers

Grown against house walls (where the brickwork and pointing are in good condition), the sheer variety of greens and yellows of the Ivy family (Hedera) with its clinging arial roots, Euonymous radicans, which, though also a ground-covering shrub, will happily climb against a wall, or the flaming reds of Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus), with its adhesive pads on the stems, are all fine examples.

We always have stock of a wide variety of types.

Twining Climbers

Twining climbers include the Clematis family, with its enormous range of flower types and colours. We always keep a good selection in stock, including the varieties Carnaby and Montana, as pictured here.

Wisteria is another fine twining climber, with its hanging trails of blue flowers in May and June.
