Herbaceous Perennials and Ferns

Perennials are great value plants that come back year after year. Flowering each spring and summer, then dying back in the autumn and growing again the following year, they help create an established look to your garden.

Most varieties are available all year round, as small plants in spring, and larger plants in summer, when they can be bought whilst in flower to provide instant colour.

Our range includes Poppies, Lupins, Primulas, Peonies, Japanese Anenome and Michaelmas Daisy, which are all examples of herbaceous perennials that will grow in almost any soil. We also have a beautiful selection of Hostas and a large range of Ferns for moist, shady areas of the garden.

Grasses

Very much in fashion, grasses planted in drifts can provide a striking contrast to your borders, bringing colour and movement. In blues, greens, and shades of gold, they can also look stunning grown in pots for your terrace.

We stock a wide variety of types, small, or tall, their foliage and seed heads really make a statement.

Alpines

The generic term given to rockery perennials, as many alpines were originally collected from the slopes of many of the world's mountain ranges. Edelweiss is pehaps the most celebrated representative of this group of plants.

However, not all rockery perennials are true alpines, some species even come from the desert or sea-shore. What most have in common though, is their preference for a sunny spot, in gritty, free-draining soil. The range we stock provides for nearly all year round colour and interest.
